A Terrorist Is A Terrorist Poem by Francis Duggan

A Terrorist Is A Terrorist

Though with a high powered rifle in his hands he suddenly feels empowered
A terrorist is a terrorist and he'll always be a coward
He places a bomb under a car and he quietly slinks away
Damn the likes of Al Qaeda and H.A.M.A.S. and damn the I.R.A.

A bomb goes off on a busy street and a young girl loses a hand
How can you say sorry 'twas not meant for you when she would not understand
That you did this for your God and Country is beyond you to explain
When the blameless innocents have to suffer years of agony and pain.

For his crimes against humanity the perpetrator has to pay
And that one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter I don't see it that way
When Alfred Nobel who discovered gelignite came to realize
Of it's destructive Nature he donated the Nobel Prize.

That one man's terrorist is another's freedom fighter I can't say I agree
For a terrorist is a terrorist that's how 'twould seem to me
With a high powered rifle or a bomb he suddenly feels empowered
But a terrorist is a terrorist and he'll always be a coward.
