A Ten Minute Spill (An Exercise By Rita Dove) Poem by Jeffrey Tedford

A Ten Minute Spill (An Exercise By Rita Dove)

A stitch in time spells ruin/While blackberry clouds hover, /Lick the horizon like a needle./On the front porch/Mother rocks frowatd/ Alto voice singing an old now-wordless tune: / I strain to hear ex-husbands, / A whir/ Of lovers swimming in the eventide.
