A Sweet Lie Poem by DEEPAK KUMAR PATTANAYAK

A Sweet Lie

Rating: 5.0

A sweet lie
- - - - - - - -
Fist of words
That you throw
Come as soft as a kiss
And draw me in
And I know them flattery
Yet locked up with no key
You take my mind
You take everything of mine
And say it's all mine
To your broken soul
You bind me
With your witching smile
And when you weep your tears
To make me stay and think a while
It becomes mighter than the gale
From sudden gusts of sobs
You bow your head low on my neck
And from your eyes flow
The river of tears
And I know them all lies
Yet loved ones, I always love to bear

Sweet lies that bring a smile are better than bitter truths that make us cry. What we see in our movies, we know are foolish but still entertaining and release tension of our lives. A great write.............10

Sometimes the praise others give, we know are not genuine...... Yet we devour the sweet words! Similarly the tears others shed may be crocodile tears.... but we like to believe that they are expressions of sympathy for us! If such gestures come from a loved one, it makes us all the more happy! Great write, Deepak!

Your sweet lie is such a sweet write. Words that perhaps many of us are familiar with. Thank you
