A Sweet Death Poem by Calvin Nyangena

A Sweet Death

Slowly it began

Awakening the already gone

Not really but far ago worn

for the feelings were all gone

but bet the love he had had won

so charming and so was it green

and as the gift from above had the link between

that together they party and dine

but away they walk alone

and always reminiscing their lives teen

that they wrote and played in the third scene

that they saw it fine to maintain

maintain it cool and low down

as peers had it stocked in any tone

and as the kinred glad for their gene

and believed it will be done

and so it was done

not knowing fate had it all

so soon awaited a fall

one that nobody could tell when due

one striking with a call not

which sometimes seem right

and with inner comfort life goes on

not realizing pale life grows on

and from far kins shy away

saying the 'father' had gone the same way

worst to eat the fruits he ate

but she said it was his own

believing he was growing a man

realizing not he died a lad
