A SUNDAY FLAVOUR!

Morning, when the day slowly breaks,
The sun’s rays begin to penetrate,
Through the Gulmohar and Neem trees,
Behind my apartment which provides
me shade!
A cup of tea awakens the drowsy mind,
As I skim through the Sunday Times!
Last night’s barren dreams are now left
behind,
With the dents on my pillow they are put
to rest!
As I try to catch up with my daily quest,
Before illusory time goes all waste!

I pen down my thoughts as I begin to
to write,
The shutters of my window lies opened
wide,
I had partially drawn the curtain blinds!
And after mid-day the sun begins to tilt,
To the west where it shall slowly sink!
What an illusion this sun brings!
Since it is I who rotate with the earth,
The sun stood stationary from its birth!
Copernicus had long cleared my mental
illusion,
Why must I suffer from further delusion? !

And as the day gradually comes to an end,
I too get closer to my journey’s end!
Tasting a slice of illusory time,
Let this flavor forever remain in my mind!

Sunday, the day of rest, is a delight to behold as I read your words. I can catch your relaxed mood as 'the day slowly breaks, and the sun's rays begin to penetrate and you pen down your thoughts as you begin to write'. A wonderful poem......10 Karin Anderson

'I pen down my thoughts as I begin to write, The shutters of my window lie opened wide'... your poetic imagination goes to its pinnacle in these lines... in the expression 'the shutters of my window' i mean thanks for this Sunday Special...10
