A Summer’s Night Rain. Poem by Daniel McDonagh

A Summer’s Night Rain.

It rains on a summer’s night,
A grey glow fills the sky,
The golden street lamps
Parade the wet roads,
The silence of midnight is broken
By the cars that speed over and down hills,
Trees rustle in the midnight breeze
While men return from the public bars.
