A Stream Poem by David DeSantis

A Stream

Rating: 4.9

Today is the first day of many.
Renewed hope
and a sense of belonging,

Invigorated feel.

Often lost in
a stream of unconscious
thought fears,
my minds eye
views
a landscape of
isolation.

For reasons unknown,
A constant use of sight
as negative feedback.
Body running
As a robot of
Sensory misperception.

Perplexing
To know that as a race
We run on habitual
pessimism.

News anchors
And terror plots
Weather bombs
And communist rumblings,
Oil
Oil
And Chavez.

I’m throwing it away.
This stream
Is built on water
flowing.

A strong metaphor here David that blends your own stream of consciousness with that of life's race - a clever blending of mindscape and landscape. There is a clarity of thought that runs through this reflective piece which carries with it your distinctive hallmark of perception. justine.

Lovely approach with this bro, to feel that we belong is a path to finding the soul held within ourselves...you've caught this beautifully, great piece bro. Best wishes *10* Jon.

Yes many times out of nothing we feel in the same manner as you have expressed, frustration, pessimism creep in as an inevitable part of our stream of consciousness. Such alternate phases make a life.. Well expressed in poetic lines… Abha

a stream of misconception flowing unhesitantly towards a stream of hope.........hope that vanished into another branches of stream........a very peculiar abstract write. best regards, Sulaiman

conscious stream, absolute control on stream of matter; ‘we run on habitual pessimism’ blatant truth in eloquent lines, a very good write

Without negative feedback we would all be dead... it is the balance redirect of nature... may your life stream be filled more with confluence than times of empheral dryness... aroha

Like the new twist given to the first line. I agree with the inbetween and, for some reason, the last part fits in perfectly. I’m throwing it away. This stream Is built on water flowing. So we start another day....
