A Stranger Near By Poem by Noorie Ali

A Stranger Near By

why my mother told me not
to stroll alone in dark
encase I was bit by a human shark
this sharp tale is true
any stranger can strangle you
you listen to your headphones
this wild music playing
while the robber behind
your back is surely praying on you'
never mute your ears
but always mute your song
cuz the beat that your hearing
could beat you to Death'
keep your sight open for a killer
near by
cuz the person that your trusting
could be the the sinner oblivious to the Eye'
