A Strange Place For A Flower To Grow Poem by Thabo Motuang

A Strange Place For A Flower To Grow

A strange place for a flower to gow
like peace in a war zone,
inspiration comes from the strangest places
this life is a race each at every pace,
people get to love or hate you even before they got to know you
I dont want to rain on your parade the promise land I thought it was in your radiant smile that aspired me to write in the mist of my heartache.

what a strange place for a flower grow
after the rain comes the shine
like a new born baby grasping for air
a strange place for a flower to grow
in the flow of the river of time I was my tainted hands like a soldier except my war was not the sought that fought with machine guns nor bullets
but agains emotions cutting deep deeper into edge of the heart

A strange place for a flower to grow
bud suddenly like cracking ice ther it stood a rose amongst the ashes,
daily we plant seeds for tomorrow we nature them with tears
sometime with blood
the greatest dreamers dont need to be sleeping in the greatest beds even from the corners of the slums Martin luther King junior had a dream Nelson Mandela was willing to die for his nations dreams,
from the bombshells after eveything has been torn to pieces a seed of hope will grow and bllom a new day in a strange place for a flower to grow
