A Story By Me Not Me Poem by Yewande Adedokun

A Story By Me Not Me

When I was young I learnt to look in the mirror
To see the outer self if 'seem justified' be more

I grew up and got judged by me yet the me not they see
Walking around on the elements of illumination not within

Till one day, it became his time to lie on the steel there
I draw closer to see, just like anyother Mr. Robotson I dread

Reason for the fear I can't understand
Like he now possess a power more than mine

I feel he can now see through
Maybe to him, now Am nude

Cold and firm was he that I see
But he might want to say something to me

I went home, I may never again be whole
All along as I see the me but not me in old it holds

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
How we look at our physical self in the mirror and justify ourself, people judging us from how they physically see us and not knowing that we are different from the body given to us for our soul to stay in. you should see what the body looks like after a man, s death, it's like a scientists work of robots.
