A Storm Poem by Miranda Weller

A Storm

Prepare for the night ahead. Not a storm tonight, but the winds will blow. Courage and strength needed to survive this, nature calling all around crackling from the wood on the fires. Coals glowing below, sizzling our meal, as the light of the lantern acting as a guiding light. Prepare for the night ahead. No storm forecasted but there is lighting in sight. Peace and tranquility will get us through the night. The chill is the air draws me closer to the fire. It’s the opportune moment to reprieve the stress, escape the depress. Prepare for the morning to come. The weather says it may rain tomorrow. An umbrella forgotten, no shield for the pain. No reason to gripe, were still here, it’s still tonight.
