A Spoof On Killers Poem by Ananta Madhavan

A Spoof On Killers

What have you there, Sirrah?
The latest news
And bad.
Who's dying now and where?
The dead are dying again
For you.
What do you want me to do, Sirrah?
Where sackcloth and ashes and cry?
Die.
I have a right to live, Sirrah.
You have a right to
Hang.

We abolish you. Get thee gone.

The poem expresses a deep anguish over mindless killings of innocents. We are disturbed, we don' t know why this senseless killings happen. Even if this happens thousand miles away, it affects all people.

This time too, I have the chance to thank you for your comment, your understanding and your reaction to murder. We can only bemoan heinously sinful actions. Maybe if there are more people who value righteous conduct (what we call 'dharma', in Sanskrit or 'aram' in Tamil, there can be a public upsurge for law and order to save society and safeguard our rights. Those who call for reform have a public duty to give voice to such a feeling. Thanks again, and best wishes. AM
