A Sparrow’s Swirl Poem by Dr. Madan Gandhi

A Sparrow’s Swirl

Every thing in the universe
and in the interior self
atoms and electrons, revolving move

Each one dance partner aware
of the movement of the other
even in relation to the whole

In macro- microcosm
a constant ritual sacrifice goes on
a process of evolving into a higher self

A constant turning and churning
of spiraling processions of spangled heavens
in the emptiness of space

From love they come
to love they go
this whirligig of infinite stars
driven by the Love’s attraction

It is the demiurge that moves
the world entire in swings and cycles
from the whirling of a satellite
to a sparrow’s swirl.

ZEROED SELF

When love kindles the heart’s flame
you casting away all shame
begin to dance mad divine

Like the moth you yearn to burn
your all till you are naught
with weavings of mind and thought

Zeroed self sans ego burning bright
a mid-day sun in a winter night
in the heart’s tranquil lake.
(Yayati)
