A Spark Of Knowledge Poem by Kimara Young

A Spark Of Knowledge

I once went to school,
but i felt like a fool,
understanding none of what was said.
Yet, i went every day,
but much to my dismay,
nothing stuck around in my head.
Something seemed missing,
something I was dismissing,
As i watched other students around me.
They seemed thoroughly intrigued,
neither bored, nor fatigued,
I stared, for this did astound me.
So i tried something new
and i read, wrote, and drew
anything that would help me remember.
For, though this challenge seemed too great,
my determination refused to abate,
instead, growing into a flame from an ember.
I will do what I must,
i will not be nonplussed,
by all the things i must fit in my head.
I will learn, I will grow
And be happy to know,
that the flames, now ignited, will spread.
They will spark other minds,
and i'll smile, for in time,
they, too, will think themselves fool.
they will question and they will learn,
then their small sparks will burn,
and to think that it's all thanks to school.

Excellent, Kimara. We all have different ways of learning and can teach others as well. Thank you for sharing
