A Soul for the Universe

As the politicians’ squabble the beggar man receives no coin
But reserve oneself the best cut of some rarest choicest loin
As many starve within the pool of tears so now hurriedly shed
Please sir spare the universe so one may hear their voices led

All silly reasons we never let love flourish as we’re all scared
Of hiding closed hearts in thinking the past is the future scarred
Painful reminders of the events that shapes the mortal model
So much so we can’t free the agony of an ever undulating soul

So tied to pain of the histories that the lover of now has no face
And so love is birthed and yet dies in the instance without grace
Forever conjured by the comfort but shattered by the lasting fear
As we all allow so much of the pain to have our own hearts steer

Away from the arms of the one and so many of the few soon cry
Something so possible will never see the sun thus soon shall die
Nothing impossible if open minds meant open souls to open love
And let the air to be breathed be the lungs and mind of the dove

As we busy away the thoughts we dare not dwell on possibilities
Of just the maybe and the might be and the growing complexities
Ever sauntered into the conscious thought before it’s again denied
And never knowingly admitted to being the one who had so lied

Lonely face can scream a name at midnight’s curse of night time
Yet to speak of this to the ones of reality would be such a crime
So many faces lost in the fog of such unconquered complex pains
As we destroy our selves in time for such unrequited material gains

And swallow every coin spent on lending our time to a final breath
Before realising how much we could have had before our own death
And yonder on assuming the next life but knowing full well we lost
So how much more can be retrieved in one lifetime and at what cost?
