A Soldier's Dismissal Poem by Miroslava Odalovic

A Soldier's Dismissal

You did it.-they said
I’ve always done, no aid
Any more tasks? – they asked
Now I’ve got none.- he masked
Now you can go.-they said
Yes, now I know I’m dead.
Mission complete. – they said
No force to compete, no aid.
Will you be back? -they asked
Think I lost the track.-he masked
The war is over –they said-
Moreover it’s never been.
The war is over- he said-
Moreover it’s never seen.

Not real, it’s a deal?
Sir, yes, sir, nothing more to stir!
This soldier’s dismissed, no aid.

And tombstone kissed, undead-
They said.
