A Shuffling Fade Poem by Jordan Wall

A Shuffling Fade

When I look
I see a shuffling fade
a ghost of need
blurred in the rain
a cloudy day
on the heels of sunshine
it roams like laying asphalt.

When I glance across
at you
I see
you sway

and all the bustle bleeds
into the soft hush of a naked plain
the crackle breaks
as the distant brush of white hot veins sweep
across the drowning lake
across the scattered leaves
of what once laid embraced
and at arms length
I touch
the arms of everyone
but you.
