A Short Yellow Rose Poem by Smoky Hoss

A Short Yellow Rose

Rating: 5.0

small in stature
yet long in sweet prose;
barely peering above unkempt weeds
beauty becomes its silent words, speaking
to humanities most basic needs;
summers simple sensation rising
up and above winters silence
our souls for to enliven;
though many shall not pause here to see
I do deeply appreciate this
God's graceful gift given, to the lowly likes of me.

I love that old saying, that surely god loves us for he gave us 'beer'. (in my opinion we do much better with poetry; first the poetry then later on the booze, if we must booze..booze leads to snooze.. if I had wit, I'd write a skit..better stop, while I'm at the top. ;)

A wonderful poem, sometimes beauty is so close but we never see it for whats in front of it. Maybe a lot of us should look closer.
