A Shoreline Meeting Poem by Rajesh Thankappan

A Shoreline Meeting

Rating: 5.0

Like the swift waves breaking on the shore
You rushed into my arms breaking though my doors
Unaware I was swept off my feet
And drenched in feelings marvellous sweet.
But love! why did your then make a sudden retreat
Leaving me gasping in the torrid desert heat?
Now the cold night too has besieged me and I am all alone
Buried in the debris of my sweet dreams and entombed.
Your thoughts now torments me like tsunami waves
From which I find no outlet of escape
O love, come to me once again, like in the past
My eyes are scorched searching the horizon for your unlikely mast.
