A Serpent And Sol Poem by Dakota Ellerton

A Serpent And Sol

Vile serpent
slithering around me
your fangs dripping poison
why do the sirens call me?
why do I follow?
a thousand bee stings
tiger claws
and bear paws
a pool of eels
a knife in my chest
foolish child
threatened by your anger
attacked by your words
never ending
dangerous waters
over flowing cup
a medicated numbness
lonliness and guilt
consume
lies overwhelm
I love someone else
they are my Sol
their voice comforts me
they listen, they see
no pressure, no fear
I only wish that you were here
