Would have pleased him
No fuss
The grace of sudden death

If his Beloved’s reading
Is true
Then he must have divined
A secret of journeys

In his pursuit of a logic
Of mediations in processes
Of revolution and counter-revolution
Of mind

And act
Individuals and mass movements
Exploding skies and volcanoes
Interconnectng

Fascinatng yet disturbing his soul
As clues to bending history
As parallax views of freedom and
Future

Something he found that assumed
His dying
In the fine Quality of his probings
His ritual of study and style of heart

That released him to a struggle for justice
A bluesteel weapon of intellect of toiling
People
Against their class enemies

That humbled him to be worthy
Of peace and a surprise of heaven
That perhaps is a simple way of
Loving
