A Seaman's Curse Poem by Shannon Harney

A Seaman's Curse

The love of man will fail.
Ocean to ocean
His allegiance sets sail.
His emotions rise and fall
With the waves,
Change and shift
with the winds,
And turn and twist
With the tides.
Upon his return,
His eyes still search
The skies
And the seas
And for somewhere else to be.
Where shall my hope reside?
Not in this fickle love of mine.
