A Sailors Love Poem by Rachel Henley

A Sailors Love

Merchant ships come to the shore,
Sailors love and leave for the sea,
It does not matter where we make port,
only where, we call home.

The hearts we leave behind for water,
My love, stay faithful and be patient,
I never chose to sail away from you,
but sailors must do, what sailors must do.

I never did leave for the sea,
for a part of me is always with you,
It does not matter where I must go,
for I am always where I want to be, home.
