A Sad Fellow Poem by Dakota Ellerton

A Sad Fellow

A new school year was coming
And I hadn’t a friend
I didn’t think I’d make one
By the summers end
I added a fellow
Nick was his name
Getting high and having drinks
That was his game
Don’t let this fool you
He’s really rather sweet
There’s nobody else
You’d want to meet
When I was down
He made me smile
Talking to him
Was well worth my while
Now he's the sad one
Always so down
Never a smile
Always a frown
