* A Rescue Poem by Deva De Silva

* A Rescue

Rating: 2.7

The stonewall and the brook
A disfigured snow mound
Reborn in my thoughts!

Moss covered rocky beds
Garland the silent stream
A black stroke of an artist’s brush!

A sparrow shrugs off snowflakes
Perched on its basin
Of a snow cone birdbath!

Daffodil and tulip bulbs
Yearning to shoot their leaf buds
Await the winter’s passing!

Trees, bushes, and all life forms
Erased by snow whitening
Sunrays to the rescue!

Wonderful poem. Those words and phrases that you have used have painted this beautiful scenery elegantly. 'The shrug of a sparrow' makes my skin gooseflesh. 'The garland of stream... as a black stroke of an artist'... a beautiful poetic stylish expression. And the budding leaves of Tulip, send us the message that winter is fading? Very nice poem Deva... appreciate the work.
