A Remembrance Of Love Lost Poem by bob eichen

A Remembrance Of Love Lost

Rating: 5.0

When I was young
I had two good friends
John Barleycorn
and
Mary Jane
But along came Officer McFlatfoot
And told me
Mary Jane was evil
He said if I kept consorting with Mary Jane
He would introduce me to his partner
Billy T Club
So Mary Jane and I parted ways
and
John Barleycorn and I became much closer
Inseparable over the years
But lately, our relationship has become strained
He's not the friend he once was
And so I find myself longing
for the companionship
of my dear
Mary Jane

AH, very clever. We are of an age and I often feel the same these days-alas.

What does Mary Jane think about this? She may have met a John Barleycorn... Colin J...
