The old year is coming to an end,
A new year lies before us,
And in this approaching new year
There are wishful thoughts of hope and trust.

Another new year is approaching,
It is possible, but unlikely to be
A year of peace on earth
For everyone to be safe and free.

The first day is tradition time,
Traditions that we vividly recall,
The resolutions of by gone years
The sameness of them all.

Still - keep your faith and hopes high
That someday you may be able dearly
To be blessed to enter a dawning year,
When people will live happily and freely.
