A Rainy Day Poem by Lizzy Hartwig

A Rainy Day

She is fed up.
Mistreated
Misunderstood.
Overestimated and set for failure.
She used to harm herself.
Because she thought she could cover up
the mental pain with physical pain.

She thought she found the person
Who would make her feel loved.
He convinced her to stop.
He would wipe the tears.
But then he broke her.
Sending her back into her darkness.

She finally gave up.
She took the pills from her cabinet
And emptied the bottle out on the counter.
She wrote a letter asking her parent not to cry.
She wrote how she felt treated like property
Not like a daughter.
She wrote to her friends and told them the truth.
How they made her fell unwanted.
She told her friends and family to work on it
So that their life in heaven would be better.

But then she realized
If she did what she was going to do
She wouldn't see them in heaven.
She would have suffered more pain in hell
Than she would on earth.

She realized that suicide is a
permanent solution for a temporary problem.
So she put back the pills
But saved the note.
Incase of a rainy day.
