A Rainy Day Poem by Khaleel Steir

A Rainy Day

A Parade of tapping as if the world has been drowned out by the millions of taps
As i stare out the window in a trance, looking at the drops fall in slow motion.
Each dropp brings back a memory, memories of my childhood.
Every drop, pushes me further into my conscious, into a dark void.

Then it appears. The only light in the darkness. She is here.
To rescue me from the pain and sadness.
A tear falls, crashing into the ground like a bomb. BOOM!
The first tear in so many years. I can't fight them back and it begins to rain.

She hugs me and everything feels as if it melts away
Its just me and her and she is all i need. I am hers and she is mine.
Then the sound of thunder brings me back. BOOM!
And I'm alone. She is gone. Then I find myself crying on this rainy day.
