A Quiet Mind? Poem by Lydia Martin

A Quiet Mind?

If whilst dreaming,
Stay awake and alert.
A drumming heart
Is silenced by screaming.
Lie still and listen.
A quiet mind
Drives away all evil.
But writhe and bend
To a force unyielding,
Darkness overtakes.
Self recognition
Will be at an end.
