A Queen's Park Christmas Poem by Thandeka Best

A Queen's Park Christmas

Bright early morning on Christmas Day,
Most little children come out to play,
Dressed there best before they hit the square,
Sporting their best Sunday wear.
Turkey baked and Hammed well done,
The Christmas lunch is almost done,
Parents all caught up in a frolic,
Hustling and bustling to a christmas tune.
Shuffling feet hurry through the street,
Making sure they are not late,
But on their way checking out each house in view.
Bushes well trimmed,
Walls and fences newly painted,
The smell of all the heavenly roast still cooking.
Their at the the park a site comes into view,
A big stage with a few local celebrities,
Carroling away in the christmas mood.
