A Purpose...(My Dear God & Mother) Poem by Rose Rosado

A Purpose...(My Dear God & Mother)

A meaning has it’s purpose,
And yet shall one know their meaning,
People don’t know anyway but thus,
Why shall all be clinging?

One may be clueless,
The other may know already,
But one shall only choose the best,
It shall not be chosen with stupidity.

You pick a direction from where you should follow,
Not knowing it may be good or not,
To pick a destination that wont come till tomorrow,
But it may not be a lot.

Waiting day after day,
Just hoping for something to happen,
Causing a great master delay,
So what can possibly come next then?

So I lay here in bed,
Cuddled up under the sheets,
“God, you choose the life for me” I said,
So I turned off the lights to fall asleep.

Slowly closing my eyes,
Nothing but dark shadows around me,
Leaving my curiosity aside,
And to begin my imaginations to run around so I can see.

“God, you choose the life for me” I repeated to fall asleep,
“God, you are my sun, you are my moon,
Give me something that I would keep,
Something that would come soon.

For me to cherish the moment forever,
Something I would remember from now till then,
So that my mother and I can stay together,
For me to remember.

That I love her so much,
And yet we may be far apart.
God, I miss her a bunch,
Since when she died,
I felt my heart was hit by a dart.

But now she is there with you,
For now I know she is happy to be in a wonderful place,
So there is no need to argue,
Just give her love to me just in case.”

I folded my arms, pretending as if I were giving a hug,

“Mommy, I know you’re here with me,
So I give you a warm hug like I always did,
For now I am happy that you can still see,
That I will still be your little kid.

May your world become mine,
For now I am on my own with dad,
Things will go simply divine,
Just for not dad to be very sad.

So I thank you for my excellency.
Doing great in the 3rd grade,
But I guess you with me all the way, just hasn’t come to be,
So I promise I will behave.

Mommy, I thank you for everything”

Amen to the Lord.
