A Puppet Poem by Emily Hunt

A Puppet

Rating: 5.0

What if a strung up doll hated its life
And every part of what
It stood for
But couldn't escape because if it cut all
Strings attached
A puppet
Would no longer be worth watching.
A puppet
Would merely
Be a doll with useless marionette strings
Hanging from its sides
It would be nothing to watch
Nothing to see
Nothing to be
But
A puppet.
Without anything.
