A Protestor Poem by Joseph T. Renaldi

A Protestor

Rating: 5.0

A nameless protestor, midst a rowdy crowd
That gathered at the city square,
Uttered words of hope and peace,
Forced and planned for everyone to care.

A turbulent and violent outburst,
A transitory, deep breath -
It aroused the emotions from the dust
Attempting to save souls from a futile death.

Oh hope! Oh love! Oh word of peace!
Oh thought of a haphazard course cast!
You were ineffective at the first,
But your words were mighty at the last.
