A Promise Of Love Poem by Serenity Cavanaugh

A Promise Of Love

A man and a woman walked to the vacant beach,
They did so hand-in-hand,
The man vowed to protect her as long as he shall live,
As they left, they left a trail of a promise of love,
The man and the woman have grown old,
Still, they walk hand-in-hand through the war,
As they left, they left a trail of a promise of love,
So passionate, it gave the war a promise of peace,
The man and the woman have grown old and weak,
Still, they walk hand-in-hand,
As they left, they left a trail of a promise of love,
The man continues to share a promise of love,
Though, the woman has passed away,
He continues to love her,
Now, the man has passed away, as well,
Leaving a trail of a promise of love,
Covering the world,
And, the people now leave a trail of a promise of love.
