A Poem Without A Title (My Jewel) Poem by Gedion Onyango

A Poem Without A Title (My Jewel)

As the sky left the ground
I mumbled something to the small city,
Till we meet again the host of life
Till we meet again the belly of the nation,
and here we shot tearing the strong and authoritative wind,
melting and wielding the strength of nature
I pierced my eyes to that of the clouds
And configured the monstrous anger and image of disappointments
I felt lonely and lost.
As the sky stood helplessly behind, besides and before me,
I incubated my feelings and kept my thought
Thinking of my beautiful jewel in the city,
maybe sadly rushing around or walking motionlessly
And then I mumbled something to my heart,
Till we meet again my jewel
Till we meet again the giver of my joy
and here we were between the calm helpless clouds
and the wide sky
submissively waving to us victoriously as we pass by,
I pierced my eyes below and I was clueless,
I felt exposed to death and nervous
I closed my eyes and dosed for strength,
and as I woke up in an alien nest
I felt lonely and terrified
