A Poem To A Princess Poem by Charl van der Sandt

A Poem To A Princess

Nowhere to turn; An umbrella of pain
Collecting my heartache like droplets of rain
Smoky clouds stretch and deform in the sky
Sketching the photos of you and of I

Memories bristle and melt into black
Green eyes die and your irises crack
Clouds crumble to ash and slowly sink down
The dreary sky that's beginning to drown

Satan's daughter, you climbed into my heart
Made waste of my mind and of love you made art
To break through the canvas and spill all the paint
To brush my lips with yours and no damn restraint

Injected seeds of lies
Dull the colour of my eyes
Do what you want with me
My feelings are obsolete
