A Poem For You Poem by Paul Prescott

A Poem For You

I remember when you walked into the living room,
An suddenly my heart went boom,
I couldn’t believe the beauty from you,
Nor could I believe it was actually true.

I could have been yours - if only?
You could have been mine - if only?
If only you wasn’t belonged to him,
If only you belonged to me.

How I could I forget that smile,
An those glittering eyes that would light up,
Even the midnight sky

I’m glad I met you,
Although the weather was cold,
Although the day was horrible,
You still new how to brighten my day

How can I forget when held my arm,
I didn’t want it stop - not even let go,
I was happy because you were next to me,
Even if it was pouring with rain an cold,
To me, you are perfect,
Because you were just being you.
