A Poem For Valintines Poem by Joshua Bantum

A Poem For Valintines

It was only yesterday I searched for beauty inside my soul,
to lay it out in song for you,
It was only the day before, in summer, when I could find no more,
The embers of imagination’s flame had crushed, hiding your smile from view.

But now, I remember your luminescent eyes,
making this blind fool blush,
A flower weep and the clouds to combust,
The stars to cry and the heart of earth to quiver from jealousy and jeer.

it was only last month I stole your tears,
You said they were yours to hide, all the pain.
Now you've dried, like a river in draught,
And I fear that was the last rain.

I don't know how I feel of our love,
For it takes two to do so,
And I choose humbly to be in solitary until I can change the seasons by will,
And not depend on the futile breeze
To carry your scent through the trees,
where I sit below them pondering when summer will come again
