A Poem About What It Is To Be A Poem

Rating: 5.0

writer's block
start
a moment
a lifetime
a thousand years
pass by in
a single second
waiting to be read
by someone
anyone who is willing
to try and make sense
of the mess that is
on the bleached paper
line segments form
words and words are
connected
interpreted
as the reader wills it
ignoring its original
intent
purpose
lost and remote
ignorant and eloquent
childish and too
far out of the
range of understanding
a picture
a place
an idea
trapped
captured by the
writer
Time stands still.

Perfect! 'Free verse' is so much like the psychologists' 'Free Association.' And you have captured the essence of both!
