A Plea For Forgiveness Poem by Bolami lawal

A Plea For Forgiveness

Rating: 5.0

My plea is for forgiveness
My heart is broken into a million little pieces
I have crossed the limits; and
Until now,
I too;
Am the guilty one

My plea is for forgiveness
I figured its the only way to redeem my past
I have done no practical evil, but
My silence did more evil
Than my hands had failed to do
My hands are soiled
Dripping with blood from the innocent's cadaver;
I have carried no gun
Yet;
Am 'the' captain in mufti
Falling more than in the Biafran
My guilt, being not in my acts but my refrains; and
Until now,
I too;
Am the guilty one!
