A Place To Pray Poem by C R Clark

A Place To Pray

Rating: 5.0

The autumn leaves fell to the ground
One crisp October day
As through the forest walked a man
To find a place to pray

His mind was filled with worldly stuff
Of problems great and small
He knew he’d never rest until
He gave the Lord, them all

The forest welcomed the troubled soul
To it’s leafy, splendored halls
And there in the woods, the man knelt down
And to the Lord, poured out his heart

There’s no better place in all the world
To be alone with God
Than in his forest on a cool clear day
When autumn leaves begin to fall

I too find a forest a very spiritual place. This is a beautiful poem, well written. Top marks, Andrew.

This poem is very beautiful as you describe Autumn in the air. The imagery is a delight and the forest sounds a very special place indeed. Karin Anderson

Beautiful poem. It feels like a line from one of my poems might fit in: 'The sounds of nature like a choir sings / A hymn to us it brings'

it seems to beg for another line in conclusion as if it ends too abruptly. I hope that comment helps.
