A Pirate I Will Be Poem by Philo Yan

A Pirate I Will Be

A pirate I will be
To sail the seven seas
If I'm not back
I'm under attack
from a kraken
from the deep blue sea!

or....

The rolling unforgiving sea
Will burn me under the sun
Or toss me left and right
in winds and stormy tempers
What heart has stolen thee,
Strong, wild and happy camper?

To be free, I need to be free
The song of life has captured me
And singing as I go
One thing that I do know
A pirate I will be!

A lost love has hardened me
A temper as black as the sea
oh one beauty has made me so
That love was not meant to be..

The riches of life aplenty
The pearls and gems and treasure
taken from unlawful plunder
can never ever measure
to a love that's pure and free...

With gold and treasure trickery
Steal diamonds of 40 carat
Plunder, pillage and thievery
A trademark of the pirate

Me thinks it's worth a beating
My mind will take a rum toll
for pirates are not immortal
The law will have a hold
But a pirate I will still be
is to die alone, to grow old.
The pirate's charted destiny..
Well, who knows...maybe....
