A Peony's Thoughts Poem by Bing Hua

A Peony's Thoughts

Fair, graceful
Fragrant, brilliant
Attract many high-ranking officials and men of letters
Popular for generation generations

Noble as a national flower
Just like Lady Yang
Doted on by many
Jealous by others

Never having the desire to take the crown
But must withstand
The changing feelings of being the queen of flowers

The most helpless thing
Is the predestination of Fortune
Not the fault of anyone

A peony's thoughts
Are
Just like gold
That never fears the fire.
