A Painting Of Dead People
A tracing of a little girl begging to be held
a grown-up woman thankful she was killed
a world of torture finally brought to an end
time spinning 'round to take us down again
a thousand different dreams drifting away,
a painting of dead people in glitter paint.
A thousand different ways for the same girl to die
a thousand different tears glitter in her eyes
she won't let you hurt her but she'll die anyway
then wake up to look at the same broken painting,
love never existed so how can she keep dreaming?
a painting of dead people glitters in the pain.
Watercolors and songs, sung in black, orange and white
water, red bricks, bridges and knives
all holding her down, all keeping her alive
whispering love songs for her to write
but the chorus, you know it spells, 'SUICIDE'
every painting has a thousand ways to die
when you live in a painting;
a painting of dead people.
