A Packrat Poem by Walterrean Salley

A Packrat

Rating: 5.0

Storing this,
And storing that.
Why be such
A packrat?

Clutter here,
And clutter there.
Piles of clutter
Everywhere.

Furniture, clothes,
Boxes, beads:
Stuff you don’t
Even need.

Always on a
Shopping spree,
But naught canst thou
Take with thee.

A very funny piece, but all too real for so many of us. Gotta have my stuff. But your beautiful poem sums it up: “Always on a Shopping spree, But from this world, Naught goes with thee.” Of all that we accumulate, we can’t take anything with us. Thanks for this lovely, insightful poem.

A very funny piece, but all too real. So many of us are to a certain extent. Just gotta have my stuff. Thank you.
