A Novice At Love Poem by Sameer Ahsan

A Novice At Love

I remember when my love was just a start
Love songs played on the strings of heart,
Humming her name, passing sleepless nights
When the earth was still, I remained alive.

I stood for hours, beside the lane; that she took
Unnoticed from the jealous eyes, for a fair look
And the moment she passes, past my eyes,
Staring fixed! No disturbances I liked.

Most I liked- dimples, a mole on the face in the right,
Cascade hair; emerald green eyes, slender figure and height.
At crowded place, I see none; as comely and classy
Profound fairness! I find her, presumably a great beauty!

Ever since, I wished to meet; talk alone
Shower love, listen the melodic tone
And take her far, where one could hardly reach
Somewhere on hills, somewhere on beach.

A Romeo, though since long I had not been
Yet, changes in me could easily be seen
People said I looked little perturbed,
Well I knew how much I was emotionally disturbed
