A Night Of Peace And Quiet Poem by Justin Gildow

A Night Of Peace And Quiet

Out in the distance
Out in the fields
The horses chew on the grass
And we enjoy the sight from where we are
Outside our house
Sitting on a porch swing

The night will come in a while
The kids are enjoying what's left of the daylight
As they run around this town
As we enjoy the view from where we are
As we enjoy sitting
We enjoy the time we have right now together

Darkness has come
And we'll hope for a night of peace and quiet
You rest your head on my shoulder
You smile as well
My arm wraps around you

We enjoy this intimate moment with one another
I can tell we'll both sleep well tonight
On this night of peace and quiet
