A New Year Poem by Matthew Johnson

A New Year

A new year has come around.
A new start: fresh, post the past;
With new snow fallen on the ground,
And the hope this year won't pass too fast.

A new year, a new decade:
A new beginning from today;
Resolutions to make, or so we say,
And another look at life's little fray.

A new year, a new decade:
A new chance to tie loose ends.
Another years worth of time to spend
With strangers, and old and new friends.

A new year has come around.
A new day to mark new starts, at last,
With new snow falling without a sound,
And the hope our time won't pass too fast.
