A New Day Dawning Poem by Richard Netherland Cook

A New Day Dawning

As I look out from my window,
I see sliding down the pane,
Little moisture beads of water,
From a morning rain.

The grass is bright and shiny,
Leaves glisten on the trees,
Branches are softly dancing,
In a gentle blowing breeze.

Springtime birds are singing,
As the day is dawning new,
The clouds are separating,
And the sun is peeking through.

Shadows dance across the yard,
From branches as they sway,
And dogs bark from a distance,
When squirrels come out to play.

Gods' hand is in the making,
Of this day I have no doubt,
As I glimpse a new day dawning,
From my window looking out.
